Electronic Medical Record
October 2007 - EMR Update!
We currently have six family practices, two internal medicine practices, one immediate care, one pediatrician practice and two specialists using the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) successfully. Sixty-five providers and their staff are currently exclusively using the EMR for all patient visits. Patient information is updated in real time through the use of EMR. Patient problems (diagnosis), allergies, medications and immunization records are easily accessed by the touch of the screen. Laboratory tests are ordered via the Electronic Medical Record and results are directly fed into the patient's chart for provider verification and better continuity of care. Provider feedback includes a noticeable increase in availability of shared patient information between other providers and practices. The EMR has increased provider time spent on patient care versus the tracking of information. A streamlined process for all medication requests both new and refills, allows prescriptions to be electronically transmitted directly to the pharmacies.
We recognize visiting your doctor is a personal experience. OUR GOAL is to ensure accurate, timely, and personal CARE. We encourage you to use the system to your advantage. Please ask questions and help your health care provider update your file.
Please be patient while this transition is taking place. Always remember our #1 priority is PATIENT CARE! |
